Leah Ferguson Photography bio picture
  • hello, hola, aloha, bonjour..

My name is Leah and I'm a portrait photographer in Salt Lake City. My photography is all about capturing your timeless memories. I have a fresh/modern/fun style. I absolutely love photography and almost always carry my camera around with me every where. I strive to capture life as it happens, and create that feeling of nostalgia.

As much as I love photography, I limit the amount of work I take on to keep my creativity fresh and be able to be available for my own family time. As of right now I'm booking for June & July 2012.

This blog is where I post my most recent work, other things going on in my life, and my family. I'd really love to hear from you, whether you just want to comment on my work, or just say hi! If you have questions please click on the "contact" tab and leave me a message!

    Thanks for stopping by! =]

Digital Photography in frisco texas

Digital Photography in frisco texas is like painting with light! It’s been said that digital photography is the one art where you don’t need to go to school, nothing separates the pro from the amateur other skill a keen eye or the right moment. So one would believe. Given that formal education and a 4 year degree may not be needed to become a success, it is said that an excellent mentor is the key.

Most digital photographs are created using a some type of digital camera , which uses a lens to focus the scene’s visible wavelengths of light into a reproduction of what the human eye would see. The process of creating digital photographs is called photography.

The great thing about photography is its ability to capture moments in time. Like that of high school senior portraits or new born photographs. Moving from hobby photography to professional photography is a big jump. It’s a jump from your current ability to pay you  house payment or utilities and focus on the art of marketing for photographers.

For me photography in north dfw is about “collecting” experiences and allowing myself to be more than a fly on the wall in my subjects’ lives. I want to bring light to the lives of those in my local community of frisco texas. I don’t think photography is dead, I think photography is an extremely young art form. I also look at the history of photography and see that many of its milestones have been based on the technology of the time.

Natural light in photography is crucial if you want to take great on location portraits. Many assume this is a simple task and means the time of day in which she can shoot her portraits is limited. Photography is used to preserve memories of favorite times, to capture special moments, to tell stories, to send messages, and as a source of entertainment. Family Photography is an art of working with different personality types and capturing the best of emotion. If photography has too much natural accident, it will hardly carry visual dynamic. But if it has too much photographer intervention and hands on of the subject, it will paralyze the natural expression of the subject’s spirit.

Once you’ve gotten your head around this and started shooting a few pictures, you might find that digital photography is quite fun and interesting. At first sight it would seem that unless you are a full-time adventure outdoors person, adventure photography is something that you will have little opportunity to apply yourself to? However, nothing could be further from the truth. When learning how to shoot adventure portraits, or sport photographs, there are many ways you can begin practicing and honing your skills when you are far from the mountains or wild rivers or the field of play.

Your goal is to be able to select a wonderful location to shoot along with having the “artistic eye” to use the natural backdrop to obtain the perfect images as possible. Bridal photography is great fun and it can be the most serious kind of photography. There is the freedom to develop the greatest pose and background possible to the industry, and the freedom from the delusion that on location portraits are hard to assemble.

Digital Photography is a customer service business. Whether you need family portraits, pet portraits, events coverage or complete wedding packages. Ensuring the right combination of client and photographer is the key to a successful photo session.

The most compelling part of digital photography is the ability to show to people wherever they are, the digital photographs you have created.

Finally, taking digital photography in frisco texas to the next level is caring more about the client and the outcome of the session. With so many photographers in the area, one can find themselves lost in a sea of choice. Learning how to work with and choose the right photographer for you as a consumer or one as a mentor is your challenge to over come.

Richelle & Bryan Salt Lake City, UT Engagement Photographer

I don’t know what it is about love.. but I just find it an amazing and such a powerful emotion. I can’t lie when I saw Bryan & Richelle kissing or any other couple in love kissing, whispering in the other ear, and laughing.. and I think camera moment! These guys have actually been  married for a year now and I could of guessed this was their Engagement! They were so much fun, and enjoyed everything we did in this session. I love to capture those funny and cute unexpected moments because they always seem to be some of my favorites. Here are some of my favorite moments of them together.

I hope you two, have many more years of laughing and fun times. I think that is some important things to have in your life wherever you are and however old you have become. Life should always be full of joy and happiness, and I feel honored to have met two amazing people full of all of those things!

Savannah & Lee Dallas Engagement Photographer

I grew up going to school with Savannah and especially remember her in High School. She has always been a sweet, beautiful, and outgoing girl that has an amazing personality. It’s been almost 5 years since I’ve lived in Dallas, the place I still call home. But I go back to visit often, and when I was there last I was able to take pictures of her and her husband. They have a cute story to go along with how they go married. They eloped because they couldn’t wait to get married, like my husband and I did and then still had a big wedding in Mexico. Which I am sure was beautiful and so much fun.. kinda jealous actually! I was so excited to get together with her and her husband my entire trip. I had everything in my head ready and then I met them, and then we I saw them together I realized they were this amazing couple. SO happy, and SO in love. I didn’t have to help them pose, or break the ice and get them over being nervous in front of the camera. I got catch up and talk about old times, and learn all about their new life together and how much we have in common. Savannah, I’m so glad you’ve found yourself such an a good man that makes you happy inside in out. I had so much fun being around you two I hope we see each other again soon for another shoot. Thank you Savannah & Lee for letting me take there pictures of you two, and creating memories for a lifetime.

Fashion Photography Salt Lake City, UT

Back in May of last year I had the privlidge to work with Jake Garn & Ryan Muirhead and his amazing team. I was very pregnant but I had an amazing time. I can say that by the end of the day, when I got home not only did I sleep well but it got the creativity running through me!! These girls were absolutely gorgeous, and they were probably some of the best models I’ve worked with. Here is some of my work from the shoot…

I absolutely love doing fashion work! The girls are so fun and up for whatever! I just feel horrible for the girl who was paint all over her, it started to hurt when it started cracking and she said it would take a few hours to get it off! I just told her I understood, and that my 2 year old was great at mocking that outfit! I hope to do more of this in the future, and if any of my readers know girls please contact me!

I hope you guys enjoy these picture as much as I do!
